Colorado Springs CO, April 16, 2012 – Today Relevant Security Corp CTO Glenn Veach participated in the Cyber 1.2 Forum in conjunction with the 28th National Space Symposium. Speaking on the Cyber Industry Dialog II panel, Veach presented the challenges faced by small cyber security companies. In particular Veach addressed the issues and concerns with introducing innovative technologies to the cyber security marketplace.
"Cyber 1.2 afforded us the opportunity to present a viewpoint from the small, entrepreneurial company perspective," said Veach, who summarized his comments on the panel by stating: "Today's cyber security challenges are affecting all segments of industry and government. While commercial enterprises are subjected to attacks that threaten customer information, revenues and intellectual property, government agencies are faced with protection of national security interests that span both the government and private sector. This has lead to a perspective on adoption of new cyber security technology that is quite different than what is often seen in the adoption of more generic information technology. Government often looks to private industry for commercial best practices and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products. Given the greater magnitude of the responsibility of government for providing cyber security protections, it is time for government, not industry, to take the posture of early adopters in cyber security to protect national interests of our country and citizens. This in turn will produce best practices and new COTS that can then be utilized by industry to defend private assets."
